Magical Rochefort-en-Terre

Rochefort-en-Terre, the "Plus belle ville de France 2016", embraces Christmas each year by lining the streets and buildings with twinkling lights to the delight of young and old alike. This year, from 24 November to 7 January 2018, this pretty town will be lit up each evening from 5:30 pm (time is dependent on sunset).

Take time to stroll through the streets and alleys of this Petite Cité de Caractère, whilst sipping a vin chaud (red or white), hot chocolate, or tasting the local delicacies of kouign amann or crêpes.

Discover the artists and craftsmen who compete to show off their imaginative creations, and find the perfect gifts in one of the many shops in the village. The Naia Museum, which is located in the grounds of the castle, is also well worth a visit.

There are even guided tours on Fridays and Saturdays in December, lasting around 1.5 hours, where your guide will explain the history of the timber-framed houses, the monumental church of Notre-Dame de La Tronchaye, the castle grounds and show you hidden "treasures" of Rochefort-en-Terre. Booking is recommended

Meet at 5:30 pm at the Tourist Office, 3 Place des Halles.

Rates 2017: Adult: 5,50 € ; Child 5 to 12 years: 3 €; Free -5 years
