Beautiful stone gîtes
in rural Brittany

La Vieille Ferme (The Old Farm) at Gayon, once a working farm, is now a tastefully renovated traditional stone longère, offering holidays in Morbihan, southern Brittany.

We have three holiday cottages, La Crèmerie, La Petite Grange and Le Grenier, all with two bedrooms, which, if booked together, can  sleep a maximum of 14 people.

Our nearest village, Ruffiac, is only 2 minutes drive away, 10 minute cycle (borrow one of our bikes) or a 25 minute stroll, with a baker for morning croissants, a butcher for delicious local meat, a well-stocked supermarket, a quirky Spanish/French restaurant, two welcoming bars, a microbrewery, a church and a chemist.

We are only 10 minutes from picturesque Malestroit and La Gacilly, close to Josselin, Broceliande Forest, Rochefort-en-Terre, not far from the Nantes-Brest canal, and not forgetting the wonderful coastline of the Gulf of Morbihan.

More flexibility for your reservations

Given the current situation with COVID-19, we have decided to change our booking conditions to be more flexible. You will now only pay 25% deposit when you book, and the remainder will be due 30 days before your holiday, rather than 60 days before. 100% refund will be offered up to 14 days before, and 50% refund up to a week before.

If travel restriction are in place when your holiday is due, we offer you the chance to postpone your holiday to later in the year, or to 2021. See our Reservations page for more information

Stay at La Vieille Ferme

If you are looking for:
  • a romantic getaway;
  • a fun trip away with friends, or family;
  • new exciting adventures (on land, sea or air);
  • somewhere to relax and get away from it all;
  • interesting flora and fauna;
  • a cultural and historical trip;
  • a base for cycling or hiking;
  • or just want to experience Bretons' gastronomic delights: wonderful seafood, crêpes, galettes, Kouign-amann, and the local ciders, beers and pommeau...
then look no further!

We are surrounded by many small cities of character, wildlife and adventure parks, lakes (some with beaches), forests and standing stones, and yet only 45 minutes from the sea.
With its own microclimate, Morbihan (little sea in Breton) regularly enjoys a warmer and drier climate than the rest of Brittany.
